Admission Criteria for Lay Student

 

Admission to the Seminary's courses may be considered to any person who meets the following criteria. Decision regarding admission is at the sole discretion of the Seminary's Admission Board. No single criterion will be the determining factor in admission.

 

  • Clergy Recommendation
    Letter of recommendation and sponsorship is required from parish priest or priest in charge of Diocesan organization.

 

  • Church Involvements
    Applicant must be actively involved in diocesan or parish ministry.

 

  • Academic Requirement
    Minimum Qualification - At least "A" level or its equivalent.
    Applicant must demonstrate proficiency in English.

 

  • Admission to Scripture Studies
    Philosophy Cycle - Applicant is required to have completed the course in Salvation History.
    Theology Cycle - Applicant is required to have completed the Scripture course In the Philosophy cycle.

 

  • Admission to Spirituality Studies
    Applicant is required to have completed the course in Introduction to Spirituality.

 

  • Admission to Philosophical Studies
    Applicant is required to have completed the course in Salvation History.

 

  • Admission to Theological Studies 1
    Applicant is required to have completed all the scripture courses in the Philosophy cycle. Applicant may be required to have completed the course in History of Philosophy.

All applicants are required to submit the following:

  1. Completed admission application form
  2. Official copies of educational certificate
  3. Clergy recommendation form

 

 

Requirements for Admission for Foreign Seminarians and Religious


Students from non-English speaking countries must pass the TOEFL test.

 

 

Seminary Academic Program

 

There are two semesters in the academic calendar. Each semester has 2 quarters of 8 weeks of lectures. The 1st semester begins in mid January and ends in May. The 2nd Semester begins in July and ends in November. Examinations are conducted at the end of each quarter depending on the course requirement.

 

Lectures are conducted from Monday to Friday between 9.00am to 12.50pm. There is a ten minutes break between each lecture.
